LAWS 801 - Comparative Environmental LawCredits: 2.5 This course will examine European environmental law, comparing and contrasting the character and development of legal and policy responses to the problems created by industrial society in Europe with those created to address similar problems in the US. Specific topics may include regulation of greenhouse gas emissions, oil and gas extraction, and production and disposal of toxic materials. The course will also examine the influence of structural features of European law, such as the precautionary principle and multi-layer federalism. Note: GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: Perspective Course Requirement REGISTRATION: Students must enroll in the other London program course also. Basis of Grade: Participation and exam Form of Grade: Letter |
