LAWS 899 - Reading GroupCredits: 1 The class will meet for at least 13 hours over the course of one academic year. Students will be assigned a series of books or similarly-substantial materials and required to produce a minimum of five pages of writing as described below, requiring at least 2 hours of out-of-class work for each hour that reading groups meet. Reading Groups are intended to facilitate an intellectually rich academic experience through informal, in-depth discussions between faculty and students. Each Reading Group will be convened to explore a legal topic or theme through the study of appropriate readings, films, and other materials. Reading groups are intended to foster deeper conversations about legal issues than traditional classes permit, especially including conversations regarding sensitive or controversial legal issues between diverse groups of students. |
